Business Rates Minimisation
Rates can be one of a business’s most burdensome overheads – and in many cases, given sound advice and competent representation, a reduction can be negotiated and an occupier’s rateable outgoings kept to a minimum.
The 2005 Rating List came into force on 1st April 2005 and we have appeals lodged against £30 million worth of Rateable Value in Central London alone. We have made significant reductions in Rateable Values on the 2005 List by in some cases, as much as 30%. Appeals can still be made and any reduction can usually be backdated to 1st April 2005.
Our dedicated rating team are well placed to appeal against rating assessments, negotiate with the Valuation Office and, where necessary, conduct and/or advise on such disputes in the Local Valuation Court and Lands Tribunal.
We normally work on a ‘no win, no fee’ negotiation fee basis. Our Rating Team including Nick Eden, Loris Tinacci and Elsie Osunbor would be happy to discuss your present and future rating liabilities.
